Think Different Psychology
A Greensboro, NC practice offering individual counseling, couples counseling, and specialized forensic treatment, built around practical, evidence based care.
Who We Are
Think Different Psychology is a private practice in Greensboro, NC led by Dr. Nicholas Rogers, a Licensed Psychologist with clinical experience across neuropsychological, inpatient, crisis response, forensic, and civilian mental health settings.
We work with adults facing a wide range of concerns, from anxiety and relationship difficulties to complex behavioral and forensic treatment needs. Regardless of what brings someone to us, our approach stays the same: active, direct, and focused on real, lasting change, not just a place to talk.
Our Services
Individual Therapy
Practical, evidence-based therapy for anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, grief, life transitions, and relationship or behavioral concerns.
Couples Counseling
Gottman Method-based therapy to help partners rebuild communication, trust, and connection, in person in our Greensboro office.
Sex Offender Treatment
Specialized, sex offense-specific treatment, risk assessments, and court-mandated care for individuals navigating the legal system.
The Think Different Approach
Therapy at Think Different Psychology is centered around active healing and change rather than a passive approach. We believe that when someone seeks treatment, there is usually a specific problem they want to understand and change, and our role is to help identify what's contributing to it, provide direction, and work collaboratively toward real solutions.
We use an integrative, evidence-based approach, drawing from a variety of evidence-based modalities:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
The Gottman Method
and other established models depending on the client and the concern.
Treatment often includes psychoeducation, skill-building, and practical exercises between sessions, so progress continues outside the therapy room.
We're intentionally structured as a specialized, individualized practice rather than a high-volume clinic. Our goal is thoughtful, thorough care with an emphasis on clinical expertise and measurable outcomes, not simply a place to talk through problems.
Founder & Lead Psychologist
Dr. Nicholas Rogers
Dr. Nicholas Rogers, Psy. D is a Licensed Psychologist (LP) in North Carolina. Since beginning clinical work in 2019, he has practiced across neuropsychological settings, inpatient treatment, crisis response, private practice, forensic psychology, and civilian mental health services.
That range of experience shapes how he approaches every client: individualized, practical, and focused on the actual problem someone is trying to solve, whether that's a relationship in distress, a specific behavioral pattern, or a court mandated treatment requirement. His style in session is warm and direct. Clients often note that he's comfortable addressing difficult topics head-on while keeping sessions conversational rather than clinical.
Who We Work With
Clients who do best with us are adults who are open to feedback, willing to examine their own thoughts and behaviors, and ready to make meaningful change. You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Many clients come to us because they feel stuck or unsure how to move forward, and what matters most is a willingness to actively participate in the process.
This applies across every area of our practice, whether someone is working through a personal or relationship concern, or navigating a court mandated treatment requirement. We meet clients where they are and work directly with them from there.
What to Expect
You don't need to have a comprehensive understanding or explanation of what's wrong before your first session. You simply need to be open and willing to talk honestly about what's bringing you in, what you'd like to change, and the commitment to work on it together.
Our process is collaborative from the start.
We work to understand your concerns, identify the factors contributing to the problem, and begin building a treatment plan early, often within the first session. Expect direct engagement: questions, feedback, psychoeducation, and practical strategies, not a passive experience where you simply talk while we listen.
